Designing a Brooklyn Bedroom

During a final design presentation, clients are presented with multiple version of their designed room to choose from. In my experience there is always one, sometimes two options that immediately call out to you, where you know right away that this is the one you want to go with! I love that moment, the moment when you expresses pure excitement, confidence in the design presented, knowing that you are in good hands and equally share my excitement in next steps.

Prior to sharing the final design so many factors are taken into account, where I thoughtfully and genuinely listen to your needs, wants, and desires. I mean, at the end of the day you are the one that will be living in your home, spending your time in each room (especially during Covid) and it’s my job to make sure that you enjoy every moment - from a beautiful design sense, at least!

For a Brooklyn bedroom project I am currently working on, I created four options of final room designs. Depending on how many rooms we design together for one home, I would create anywhere from two to four final designs per room. Each one having their own mood and style. Some more calming, some more energizing, some just flat out cool! Take a peek below, I would love to hear your thoughts on which one you would have chosen?

Also you can follow along on this project here. It’s still a work in progress as we are testing paint samples and ordering furniture, but you can bet I will keep you all updated as it moves along.

Browns, blues, and grays with touches of greenery make this room feel very calming. Wouldn’t you want to curl up with a book in that cozy club chair?

Which is great for someone that wants a multi-functional bedroom, usually in shared apartments. Who are we kidding, here in New York City we all use each room of our apartments for a million things!

Or why not go a bit trendier, with funky geometric patterns, and classic tones.

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments, which design would you pick?
