Mahogany, Walnut, and Oak… Oh my!

It’s a world of wood, and we’re all just living in it.

I had the opportunity to visit my very first couple of showrooms a few weeks ago, and I was blown away. I felt like a kid in a candy store! Surrounded by so much beauty of design and craftsmanship, it was surreal. I was quite nervous about the experience prior to visiting. Being that I am just starting off on my journey of interior design, I am not yet fully equipped with the lingo, and felt unsure of the right questions to ask. Fearing that the staff would realize I didn’t intend to order anything, I would be cast away. I am not one to typically let insecurities overcome me, this is a girl that flew across the country with no job or place to call home over 5 years ago, all to try something new! Now look at me, I have left a career I knew very well and was all too comfortable in, in order to follow my dreams! I wasn’t going to let a new experience like visiting a showroom for the first time overwhelm me.
